HP to bring 3D printing features to mobile devices
HP’s Sprout workstation already incorporates several 3D features, including the capability to play with a 3D image so that it can be used to 3D print the object. Now, HP announced that it will bring this capabilities to laptops and tablets as well for a more interactive computing experience.

Five years after the U.S. retail chain JC Penny decided to stop printing its massive catalogue and focus on the web, the catalogue is back. The move is substantiated with data showing that many of JC Penny’s online sales were driven by what the shoppers saw in print.

Tanzania 3D printing initiative for creating jobs and reducing waste

Fujifilm won sustainable innovation award
Fujifilm Europe announced that the Fujifilm Specialty Ink Systems Limited (FSIS) manufacturing facility for screen and UV wide-format ink based in Broadstairs, UK, won the 2014 ‘Sustainable Innovation’ and ‘Manufacturing Champions’ awards. The award-winner was chosen by the British Coatings Federation (BCF); it acknowledges Fujifilm’s initiatives that have led to low levels of waste and high recycling figures.

Xeikon continues its investment in textile printing
Digital print specialist Xeikon has continued its investment in textile printing. At the trade show Heimtextil in Frankfurt, Germany, Xeikon’s presses were used by Hugo Diego for its 2015 Textures collection. Xeikon’s presses allowed Hugo Diego to demonstrate the commercial and creative flexibility that the presses bring to the market, said Xeikon.
