Huhtamaki expands in India
The packaging company Huhtamaki from Finland that is known for making paper cups for McDonald’s will acquire Indian Positive Packaging for 336m $. The latter company currently runs six plants in India and three in the United Arab Emirates.

Postal service profiting from 3D printing
A new white paper published by the United States Postal Services suggests that the company might make money from the rise of 3D printing as a result of more single-item parcels being shipped to consumers over shorter distances. This contradicts the current assumption 3D printing would eat up the postal business.

Armstrong Packaging sold
Multi Packaging Solutions has bought specialty rigid boxes firm Armstrong in order to expand its reach into luxury packaging, gift sets, travel retail and commemorative editions. The MPS brand had only been formed last month after the merger between Chesapeake and US-based Multi Packaging Solutions.

Printing Industries of America have announced the winners of the Premier print awards 2014. They honored 1.022 pieces with one of the three awards “Best of Category”, “Awards of Recognition” and “Certificates of Merit”.

NAND toners receive ecological label
Indian toner manufacturer NAND’s entire current range of chemical color toner has received the Nordic White Swan, an ecological label for categories of non-alimentary products with a reduced impact on the environment.
