Scientist achieve breakthrough with 3D printed LEDs
Printing functional electronic components has been perceived as a milestone on the way to 3D printing electronic equipment such as cellphones. Scientists at Princeton have now made a huge step toward this goal. They were able to print functioning quantum dot LED lights by combining five unique materials into a single LED.

LumeJet seeks private investors
LumeJet, a printing machine manufacturer founded in 2010, develops photonic platform technology for inkless printing and patterning applications. In a crowdfunding process, it now seeks new investors to expand its business. The company seeks to raise 2 million British pounds from investors wanting to invest any amount from 5000 to 500 000 British pounds.

International Paper sees stronger demand for packaging
In anticipation of a strong holiday season, box orders for the online retail segment have been up 15 percent year-over-year in 2014, Chief Executive Mark S. Sutton said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. The demand from traditional retailers has also been strong.

New Foodini 3D printer makes everyday meals
Food preparation has been one area where 3D printing has made rapid advanced in the past months. Now, a new addition has been presented at the Web Summit Technology Conference in Dublin, Ireland: Natural Machines introduced the Foodini, a 3D printer that can print everyday fare such as pizza and ravioli.

FedEx expands print solutions for corporate customers
FedEx Office teamed up with the marketing firm InnerWorkings to offer a wider range of printing solutions to its commercial customers at its retail locations. The customers, ranging from Fortune 1000 companies to small businesses, will have access to FedEx’s networked fleet of narrow, wide and grand format equipment.
