Researchers at the University of Sheffield are combining inkjet printing and composite materials to improve the structural integrity of lightweight, self-healing materials. The study is being sponsored by the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research.

Epson Italy rewarded for green commitment
Epson Italy has a received a prize by the National Packaging Consortium (Consorzio Nazionale Imballaggi, CONAI, which sets parameters for product packaging. They rewarded Epson’s efforts to reduce the impact of its series of Expression inkjet printers compared to the previous series.

Corrugated packaging alliance
Victory Packaging, a leading full-service North American packaging solutions company, signed a strategic alliance with HAVI Global Solutions from Chicago covering the corrugated packaging sector. The partnership aims to increases Victory Packaging’s presence in the food service market and international presence through existing HGS relationships.

German print conference tour
Non-profit organization PrintPromotion, a part of the Association of German Manufacturers of Printing & Paper Technologies, will host one day conferences in Miami, Minneapolis and Philadelphia in October 2014. These conferences are free of charge and geared towards entrepreneurs, managers and experts from companies in the printing and print finishing industry as well as the trade press, associations and educational institutions.
