Here is a special edition of our future links with the latest news on inkjet printers. They feature ESMA’s third Annual InkJet Conference 2016, the world’s smallest all-in-one printer by HP, a new research project to further develop Océ inkjet printers, UK’s first graphium hybrid UV inkjet press, and the new Orion Touchscreen Tablet Kit.

3rd Annual InkJet Conference 2016
This Wednesday and Thursday we are presenting drupa at ESMA’s third Annual InkJet Conference 2016. drupa director Sabine Geldermann is going to open the program with a keynote on post drupa 2016 industry and technology trends. Our cooperation partner ESMA expects 500 participants from 25 countries who can look forward to 50 speakers. Besides their presentation several exhibitors will showcase technologies and innovations focusing on inkjet engineering.

Launch of the World’s Smallest All-in-One Printer by HP
HP has just launched its DeskJet Ink Advantage 3700. This all-in-one inkjet printer is supposed to be the world’s smallest in its class; it is half the size of similar printers. One benefit of this device is that users can control it by using a mobile application, so that they can scan, print, and copy wirelessly from their smartphones or tablets. Furthermore it is optimized for use with social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

New Research Project to Further Develop Océ Inkjet Printers
Venlo-based Océ has recently announced to invest € 6.3 million in a new inkjet research project. Under the title “Fundamental Fluid Dynamics Challenges in Inkjet Printing” they aim to develop future generations of inkjet printers by analyzing drop formation, the prevention of air bubbles, and the drying of drops on paper. The project will run six years and is supported by the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter, the Eindhoven University of Technology, and the University of Twente.

UK’s First Graphium Hybrid UV Inkjet Press to be Installed at ProPrint Group
Proprint Group invested in UK’s first graphium hybrid UV inkjet press. The FFEI Graphium hybrid flexographic and UV inkjet label press will be installed at ProPrint’s Wellingborough facility and enables the company to expand its offer of flexible digital labels, packaging, and light cartons. This also means that the supplier for the fresh food retailer market can enlarge its production space by 50 percent.

Orion Touchscreen Tablet Kit Simplifies Control of Inkjet Coders
Squid Ink Manufacturing has introduced its new Orion Touchscreen Tablet Kit. This device allows users to create and transfer messages for dot matrix and hi-resolution coding systems within the company’s line of CoPilot hi-resolution and Jetline large-character inkjet printers. The kit includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen tablet and holder stand, stylus, USB-to-Ethernet adapter, 3-foot Ethernet cable, and an Orion soft-ware operator license.
