MWV and Rock-Tenn plan multi-billion merger
Rock-Tenn Company and MeadWestvaco Corporation have agreed to merge. The new company will be a leading global provider of consumer and corrugated packaging and will be competing with International Paper. The combined company will be worth approximately 16 billion USD.

Epson presents new technical drawing printers
Epson has launched its next-generation T-Series Technical Drawing printers, are designed to deliver high speed, high performance, and high precision printing, according to a statement by Epson. The printers are designed for the engineering, architecture, and Geographic Information System (GIS) markets.

Makerbot announces Android version of its mobile app
After presenting the iOS mobile app in November, Makerbot has now launched the Android version of its mobile app. The app lets users wirelessly 3D print objects right from their smartphones and monitor the printing process.

RR Donnelley CEO talks about the company’s strength
RR Donelley’s chief executive Tom Quinlan said in an interview “Printing’s death has been greatly exaggerated. It’s not print or digital, it’s print and digital. Print is core to a communications plan.” He cites the strong customer focus as the driving force behind the company’s longevity.
