Here’s our daily news roundup from the printing industry. Today with bioprinting in Singapore, MakerBot and Dell, the future of printed electronics, Xerox fighting back, the Italian packaging market, Epson’s new paper, an E-book for selling printing and the IPA 2014.

Bioprinting event
Bio 3D Technologies from Singapore, the self-proclaimed inventor of the first modular bio-printer, is hosting a free demonstration event on the technology. It will be held at the Biopolis Matrix Auditorium on 6th August 2014.

MakerBot and Dell
Dell had recently signed an agreement with MakerBot making them their exclusive supplier of FDM 3D printers. They have now expanded that partnership into the UK market.

Xerox fights back
The estimated worldwide impact of counterfeiting adds up 3.5 to 5 $ billion annually. To tackle this problem, Xerox has recently supported raids and prosecutions around the world confiscating fake products.

Italian packaging market
Ucima, the Italian packaging machinery manufacturers’ association, has published recent numbers on the market. According to their statement, the industry of 621 companies has generated an overall turnover of 6,003m € and confirms its status as the most important Italian capital goods sector.

Epson’s first dye sub transfer paper
Epson has introduced its first dye sublimation material, the DS Transfer Production Paper. The product is claimed to be is unique to Epson and has been specifically developed for the volume production of textiles for fashion and soft signage applications.

IPA 2014
The Inspirational Packaging Awards which will be held on 5th November at Packaging Innovations in Madrid are now open for registration. Product brands, designers and packaging manufacturers from across the world can enter products launched in 2013 or 2014.
