VDMA informs about sanctions against Russia
The German industry association VDMA has set up a website with articles and information about the sanctions against Russia for the mechanical engineering industry. The site provides not only information about current trade restrictions but also about information about talks and seminars about export control.

Fuji Xerox printer gives mobile printing new meaning
Printing sensitive documents on shared printers can be risky – not everybody in the office needs to see the contract for the new employee or the purchasing agreement with a preferred customer. Fuji Xerox came up with a unique solution: A robotic printer that comes to your office and delivers the documents directly to you – protected from prying eyes.

First Industrial Print Expo in Mexico
The Tarsus Group and E.J. Krause and Associates are launching the first trade show dedicated to industrial printing in Monterrey, Mexico, early next year. The Expo will run alongside the Expo Manufactura, which is currently the biggest forum for the Mexican manufacturing industry. The Expo will be a platform for cutting edge technologies and solutions, sharing knowledge, and generating investment within the industrial print sector.

Heidelberg expands UK color certification teams
Heidelberg has strengthened its color certification team in Great Britain and has also assigned special teams to certain regions. This move reflects increased demand following the growing numbers of ISO 12647-2 certifications and a greater push to implement pressroom-wide print color management projects. More at Print Week 

Is recycling always the best method?
According to a new opinion piece on the Verdigris blog, recycling is not always the most environmentally friendly option for packaging. The blog details the requirements for functional packaging and the pros and cons of various recycling or disposal methods.

Sun Chemical to showcase electronic packaging
Printed electronics on packaging has attracted a lot of attention in recent months as the first solutions emerged. T+Sun, a partnership between Sun Chemical and T+Ink, will present their electronic packaging solution at the Labelexpo Americas 2014 in Chicago. The solution is designed to enable communication between packages and objects, engage consumers, manage inventory systems and provide brand authentication solutions.

Tyler Packaging implements augmented reality
The flexible-packaging producer Tyler Packaging is using augmented reality software to let its customers touch and feel their virtual products during the prototyping stage. Customers can interact with the virtual prototype and examine it from all angles via a specially designed app.
