This week our news round up from the printing industry covers 3M’s new materials for industrial 3D printing, the expansion of Hapa’s inkjet range, a partnership between Mitsubishi Imaging, Inc. and DREWSEN SPEZIALPAPIERE, acquisitions by Ambro and Toppan’s engagement for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

New Materials for Industrial 3D Printing by 3M
A large proportion of commonly used industrial plastics aren’t widely available for 3D printers, so that they are unsuitable for many applications. But recently, the industrial polymer supplier 3M extended its portfolio by 3D printable fully-fluorinated polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) polymers. This substance is extremely useful due to its hydrophobic properties and its extremely low friction coefficients. In this context, the multinational corporation also announced to introduce a print-on-demand solution, which will offer 3D printed parts with particularly complex geometries made of PTFE.
