After a slow start, the publically listed Australian print companies have reported positive figures rising almost 6%.

Printed organ breakthrough
There has been great progress in bioprinting on the way to fill the void for organ transplants so far. However, the biggest hurdle had always been the vascularization of the printed organ tissue. Scientists from the Universities of Sydney, Harvard, Stanford and MIT now figured out a technique to make this possible.

More focus on recycling
Recycling, paper and packaging group Cascades sold its fine paper activities to Rolland Enterprises Inc, a HIG Capital subsidiary. With this step, the company intends to exit the fine and security paper markets to focus more on packaging, tissue and recycling business.

New packaging plant in China
The French packaging giant Albéa Group has opened a $14m cosmetics packaging plant in Suzhou in order to strengthen its presence in China. Different to its four other factories in the country, the new facility is the only site to house the complete scope of its core expertise.

First pressure controlled printer
Australian startup Hardcotton has launched the self-proclaimed world first pressure controlled stereolithography 3D printer. It hardens liquid plastic with an ultraviolet layer by layer using a pressure control system to control resin levels when an object is being built.

Kuwait packaging plant deal
A subsidiary of one of the largest producers of printing and packaging materials in Kuwait, Al Khat Packaging Co., has signed a 50 year land-lease agreement with Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi. The $21.7m facility is Al Khat’s first production plant outside of Kuwait.

Monotech Inkjet Systems, a division of Monotech Systems specialized in manufacturing and supplying industrial inkjet systems, has strengthened its position in India installing more than 10 systems across the country.
